A Brief Overview of the LBC Universe
Love By Chance 2 is yet another set of characters from the same novel that gave us the characters Tharn/Type and Ae/Pete story lines. There are 80+ chapters in the book. When you try searching, you may find them in sections. There are chapters where Tin/Can are focused on, Ae/Pete, Tharn/Type, Kengkla/Techno AND Tar/Tum. There are sections of the book with Type and the soccer Crew – Techno, Can, Ae, Good – Sections with the International Studies Faculty (Ae/Tin) and they are all the other friends they interact with (Bow, Pond). Techno has a brother in high school (Technic) who goes to the same school as Tar and Kengkla. Tar used to date Tharn’s character in “Tharntype the Series” – so, the universe of this novel is quite extensive.
In Love By Chance Season 1, the focus is on the relationship of Ae/Pete and Tin/Can is the second ship. In TharnType, the Focus is on Tharn and Type. Tar and Tum make it into both series, but have different actors playing them.
Love by Chance Season 2 will focus on Tin and Cantaloupe (TinCan). The issues with Kengkla and Techno (brought up in LBC 1 but not in TharnType really) will also be addressed.
OK – Now if you saw both Love By Chance Season 1 – and TharnType – you might have a better understanding of where we are now for Season 2.
So, Ae (played by Perth Tanapon) is in Love By Chance Season 2. The most glaring issue is the absence of Pete, who was played by SaintSup in both LBC and TharnType. (Tin and Kengkla also played the same role TharnType). Saint’s absence as Pete in the series has already caused a lot of drama (this will be a whole separate post in itself). But it isn’t surprising, as a good chunk of the Love By Chance staff was also in Until We Meet Again, without Saint.
Saint moved on to Why R U? series which has already finished with a new Ship with Zee Pruk. Perth was already shipped with Mark Siwat (Kengla in the LBC series) in “The Stranded” which is now on Netflix.
So, yes, this will Not have Saint.
But moving on, the story will focus on Tin and Can. I think we all had a collective gasp at how their story ended in Love By Chance Season 1. But thankfully, there’s enough material from the novel that we get a whole second season! The cast is already doing their workshops, and we are starting to get a lot of content from P’Neww and the actors involved.
