A “Love” Triangle

Great Men Academy is not your ordinary school with ordinary lessons. The students of Great Men Academy are not ordinary students either, they’re the best of the best, and getting through GMA will set you for life. They also host a tournament yearly to see who is the Greatest – and the winner gets a wish from a Unicorn. Huh? OK I was confused too, this is not a normal school.

Girl “Love” (New Chanyapuk) is a young girl entering High School, who watches the Great Men Tournament every year. She is one of the biggest fans of Vier (Ice Paris). One day she happens to run into a Unicorn, and it’s injured. Of course, she helps, and gets granted a wish – so Love wishes for a chance to fall in love with Vier, and the Unicorn turns her into a Boy “Love” (James Teeradon). The rest of the story unfolds in 8 episodes – and we are really only following 7 cast members so it fits nicely in 8 episodes.

The Great Men who make it into the Tournament are

Vier – Two Time Champion in his first and second year

Tangmo who is Vier’s roommate, and Love’s Mentor (JJ Kritsanapoom )

Love – The Main Character

Menn who Love’s Roommate (Jackie Jackrin)

Good, Love’s Brother who is in the same year as Vier and Tangmo (Porsche Sivakorn).

Sean – Vier’s mentee, and Second Year Student (CAPTAIN Chonlathorn)

And last but definitely not least, Nuclear who is a 1st year student with Love and Menn, and is Vier’s mentee (Third Lapat)

Sean – is Noh from Love Sick, and he has grown up so much! As for the main boys, a lot of them have worked together in other shows – namely “In Family we Trust” which feature all 7 of the boys. Because they worked with each other before, they have really great chemistry on screen.

The story moves along and of course the Boy “Love” has a dilemma when accidentally finding himself in a “Love” triangle that can be complicated. But mainly the triangle is with Tangmo, Love, and Vier. Tangmo (JJ) did get the boy in Diary of Tootsie, so I was rooting for Tangmo from the start.

I would have rated the show a little higher, but I was able to predict the entire last episode. But, somehow i still cried in the final episode. I did really enjoy the ending and the show creators really did well with the triangle(s). A few surprises with Rose, but you should watch to find out!

Final Note – GMA has one of the best theme songs when coming back from commercial break, almost as good as Dark Blue Kiss!
